We’re hearing that Aberdeen’s Queen Street won’t fully reopen until July.

For months, the roads around Marischal College have been plagued with signs, slabs and fencing.

Now, it doesn’t look like it’ll be clearing up any time soon.

Del Hendrickson from the opposition SNP group has criticised the setback, saying it’s another example of poor leadership:

"We're quite concerned with the knock on effect it will have on the completion of Broad Street. I kno that I have constituents who've been asking questions about it, because it's quite a major thing.

"We have the set up of the road with cars on the pavement. I watch it everyday, some people walking on the right, following the instructions and some not. I've got quite a lot of concern.

"There's obviously a lack of oversight on projects. It's the same with the Upper Kirkgate, there's delays with that. You only have to look at the various delays on various other projects in the city too. From the administrations point of view, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of project management."

Aberdeen City Council has apologised for the delays that it says are down to the discovery of a soft spot on the ground which is something they can’t do much about.
