A Crown Office investigation is underway to look into the circumstances of the murder of Aberdeen man Alan Geddes.

Alan's killer, Stuart Quinn, was released from prison the same day he went on to attack the Dad of one.

Quinn had been offered a place to stay by his victim after a night out.

The 35-year-old also claimed he'd been released and told to go to a homeless unit, but found it to be closed.

Last month Alan's sister Sandra told Northsound she believed her brother would still be alive had Mr Quinn been handled differently by the authorities.

Today she met via video call with Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf to discuss her thoughts.

She told us:

"I felt the Justice Secretary was very open, honest and very receptive."

"I think he took on board a lot of what we discussed."

She continued: "It was very positive."

"I think he is committed to see this through and get the results that we both feel that me, and Lucas (Alan's son) and the family would want"
