Crew members on TAQA oil rig self-isolating after showing 'mild' coronavirus symptoms
Eight staff members have begun self-isolating, while 5 further are nearing the end of a period of self-isolation.
Eight crew members on a TAQA operated oil rig have begun self-isolating after showing 'mild' symptoms of coronavirus on the Cormorant Alpah and North Cormorant.
TAQA say the staff will be flown on-shore tomorrow.
Meanwhile, they say five further members of the crew who had shown 'minor' symptoms on the platforms are nearing the end of a period of self-isolation. They are feeling well and remain on board.
A spokesperson said:
"The safety and wellbeing of everyone on the platform remains of primary importance. The crew members are being looked after by the medics on board.
This does not have any impact on platform operations and flights to and from the platform are continuing as normal."
