Covid-19 patient urges Scots to start believing in danger of virus
James MacDonald is filming a blog while he is kept alive on a respirator.
A man in hospital fighting for life with Covid-19 in one of Scotland's coronavirus hotspots is telling Northsound 1 people to follow the rules and start believing in the seriousness of the virus.
James MacDonald, from Stranraer, was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after his conditional deteriorated, and is keeping a video blog of his experience on a covid ward where he is now being kept alive by a respiratory support machine.
James had been isolating at home when he found out he had tested positive for the disease.
Speaking from his bed at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary he said: "This is what I am going through at the moment for all you that still believe that covid is a nuisance more than a virus.
"This ventilator is giving me 80 per cent of my oxygen, which means that basically the ventilator is keeping me alive.
"Unless you want to end up like this, start believing and get yourself together on this."
He also went on to slam those that break or bend the rules, saying they are responsible for putting him and others in hospital.
"It was idiots, too stupid to think of others, that did this.
"You put me in here, you, with your stupidity, your foolishness and your failure to comply!"
