Police Scotland are trying to trace a man who has been reported missing from his home in the Midstocket area of Aberdeen.

Brain Henderson, 76, has not been seen since Tuesday July 19, 2016.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety and welfare.

He is known to travel throughout the city by public transport.

Mr Henderson is described as being approximately 5ft10, of a slim build with short grey hair. When last seen he was wearing a beige jacket and dark trousers.

He also has an injury to his leg which slightly impairs his walking.

Inspector Lorna Ferguson, who is leading the search, said: "We are appealing to anyone who knows where Mr Henderson might be, or anyone who has seen a man matching his description, to contact us as a matter of urgency.

Officers have been carrying out enquiries throughout the week to establish his whereabouts, however any information from the public could be of great assistance.

"It is now more than three days since Mr Henderson was last seen or heard from and there are obviously increasing concerns for his welfare. If Mr Henderson himself sees my appeal I would ask him to get in touch as soon as possible.
