Christie: Business as usual at Aberdeen after McInnes resumes stewardship
McInnes missed two days training during the week as he talked with chairman Stewart Milne about the prospect of moving to Rangers
Ryan Christie revealed it was “business as usual” at Aberdeen after boss Derek McInnes resumed stewardship of the club after rejecting Rangers.
McInnes missed two days training during the week as he talked with chairman Stewart Milne about the prospect of moving to the Ibrox club, before reiterating his commitment to the Granite City outfit on Thursday.
The former Gers midfielder was cheered by the travelling Aberdeen support at Dens Park on Friday night before, during and after the 1-0 Ladbrokes Premiership win over Dundee, which came courtesy of a Scott McKenna goal and which gave the Dons a welcome three points following two straight defeat by Rangers.
Midfielder Christie, on loan from Celtic, told Aberdeen's official website: “I was delighted when I heard the news that the manager was staying.
“We hear so much and you don't know what to believe and when the news came out that he was staying we were so pleased.
“He walked back in and it was business as usual.
“It was as nothing had happened which was nice. It is so great to get everything sorted off the field so we can concentrate on things on the pitch.
“Hopefully we can push on after a really good win.
“Obviously it has been a very strange week but aside from that, we wanted to get back to winning ways.
“There was a feeling over the last three weeks or the past month we have not been anywhere near our best and the Rangers games were very frustrating."
