Casualty airlifted to hospital after 'serious' two-car crash in Aberdeenshire

A casualty has been airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle road collision in Aberdeenshire.

A casualty has been airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle road collision in Aberdeenshire.

The incident happened at around 2:30pm on Saturday on South Road in Peterhead next to the Esso petrol station.

The collision involved a silver Renault Clio and a silver Honda Civic with one casualty being airlifted by helicopter to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, police said.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman, said: "The two-vehicle collision involved a silver Renault Clio and a silver Honda Civic.

"We were called to the scene of a serious road traffic collision at 2.30pm with fire services helping the trapped person. The road is currently closed."

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, said: "We have two appliances there where we cut a casualty free from one of the vehicles who is currently being airlifted to the hospital."
