Over a dozen cars have been vandalised in Aberdeen's West End.

Doors and panels were scratched on Chattan Place and Claremont Street over the weekend.

Around 16 vehicles were targeted during the evening of Saturday May 6th, 2017.

Local Sergeant Robert Shand said: "This has been a malicious and extensive act of vandalism which will cause inconvenience, financial loss and needless worry to those affected. I can assure the public it won’t be tolerated.

"This is generally an extremely safe area to live however I would urge people to always try and park your vehicle in a well-lit spot which is overlooked. It goes without saying that you should be able to park your car without the fear of being targeted, however it's important to always remain vigilant.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous."
