Car torched in Aberdeen ‘linked’ to lorry thefts

The vehicles, which were packed with alcohol and furniture, were taken from a firm in Tullos, and found burned out near Huntly early on Monday morning.

Police think a car found torched in Aberdeen is linked to the theft of two lorries in the city.

The vehicles, which were packed with alcohol and furniture, were taken from a firm in Tullos, and found burned out near Huntly early on Monday morning.

Now officers think it is connected to a silver Renault Megane, which was discovered in the Hazelhead area of the city later that same day.

Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam said: "This incident appears to have been a well organised crime with a significant value of property stolen and damaged.

"I would urge anyone who saw a silver Renault Megane motor car in the Hazlehead area around lunchtime on Monday, May 16, to contact the Police as soon as possible.
