Car set on fire in Aberdeen street

A blue fiat panda was set alight in the Stoneywood area of Aberdeen.

Police are appealing for information after a car was set on fire in the Stoneywood area of Aberdeen.

A blue fiat Panda was parked on Stoneywood Road around 4pm on Tuesday August 17th, when the owner returned to the car the following morning it had been moved a short distance and set on fire.

The inside of the car has been badly damaged.

Officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries and are checking for any relevant CCTV footage in an effort to obtain more detail regarding the incident.

Constable Barbara Townhill said: “I am appealing for anyone with any information regarding this incident to contact us. Did anyone you know come home smelling of smoke or have you hear anyone talking about the incident. Any small piece of information could assist us in our inquiries and I would urge you to pass your information on.”
