A car has been found on fire in Aberdeen.

The fire service was called at 1am this morning and they spent close to an hour putting out the blaze.

It's being treated as suspicious.

We don't know if it had been stolen, but it does follow a series of car crimes in the North East in recent weeks.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the recovery of a black Land Rover Discovery reported missing from the Milltimber area on Tuesday.

The vehicle was recovered in the Bridge of Don area in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The police want anyone who saw the motor car between the days in question to get in touch.

Meanwhile, two other vehicles reported missing in the North East have also been recovered - a white Ford Transit Van taken from the Great Northern Road area on September 6 and a silver Vauxhall Saphira taken from the Stonehaven area on September 7.

Two stolen vehicles remain outstanding in the Aberdeen area - a red Kia Rio which was stolen from Stirling Street on September 6, and a silver Renault Scenic taken from Bonnyview Place on September 3.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers if you would like to remain anonymous.
