Can you give these ponies a home?

The Scottish SPCA in Aberdeenshire has issued a special appeal to find a new home for a Shetland pony and her foal.

Staff at the charity’s centre in Drumoak are caring for three year old Missouri and her six week old son Jefferson and want to find the pair a home together.

Centre manger Graeme Innes said, “Missouri had a rather round tummy when she arrived in our care and gave birth to the adorable Jefferson in April.

“Missouri is a beautiful young girl who loves a bit of attention and being fussed over.

“She had not had any form of handling in the past but that didn’t slow her down and she has made fantastic progress. We believe she has the potential to become a nice little ridden pony in the future.

“This petite lady has a great personality and after being shown a bit of kindness will be your best friend in no time. “Jefferson is also very trusting and friendly and gets great confidence from his mum. “He is learning more each day and it has been a pleasure to watch him grow up.

“We’re quite surprised that that we haven’t had any interest in Missouri and Jefferson yet and we’re hoping we can find someone with the time, space and resources to offer this sweet pair a loving home.

“It’s a big ask for someone to take on two ponies but due to Jefferson’s age we need to keep them together and we’re sure their perfect home is out there somewhere.”

Anyone who can offer Missouri and Jefferson a new home is being asked to contact the Scottish SPCA’s Aberdeenshire centre on 03000 999 999.
