Calls to save historic building

Published 3rd Jun 2015

A campaign to save a historical Aberdeen building has been launched.

Developers of the new AECC plan to knock down Strathcona House on Greenburn Road - to build a car park.

It's part of Aberdeen University's Rowett Institute, and has stood since the 1930s.

Aberdeen Donside MSP Mark McDonald says the mistakes of the past cannot be repeated, and he wants the City Council to safeguard our historic buildings.

A consultation on the new AECC masterplan is running until the end of the month.
