Bomb Squad Being Brought Up From Edinburgh To Assess "Suspicious Package" in Fraserburgh

A bomb squad from Edinburgh is being brought up to Fraserburgh after a "suspect package" was found in the town.

Police were called to the Co-op store on Buchan Road after the package was found at around 11:45am.

Officers are currently down at the scene, assesing the situation.

As a precaution, Buchan Road and the "immediate surrounding are" has been evacuated and closed off.

A number of residents have been removed from their homes.

Officers are advising members of the public to stay away from the area.
