Family of missing Aberdeenshire woman informed as police discover body

The family of missing Ruth Watt have been informed after police discovered a body in a secluded area near Tarves.

Police discovered the body around 10am on Saturday morning.

Police have discovered a body in Aberdeenshire and have informed the family of a missing woman.

Around 10am this morning, Saturday 25 June, officers were searching in a secluded area near to Tarves, Aberdeenshire.

During the search they discovered the body of a woman.

Formal identification has still to take place, but the family of Ruth Watt have been informed.

Ruth Watt has been missing from the area since Tuesday 21 June.

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
