Biker dies in Aberdeenshire crash

A man has died after his motorbike was involved a collision with a lorry today, Thursday, 17 August, on the B977 north of Lyne of Skene.

It happened shortly after 9am and involved the motorcycle and a white DAF lorry. The male driver of the lorry was uninjured.

Road Policing Inspector Jon Barron said: "Our thoughts are with all affected by the tragic incident this morning.

"We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision to speak to us if you have not already done so. Police can be contacted on 101. Please quote incident number 0678 of 17 August.

"The road will remain closed for some time to allow for enquiries to be carried out and we thank motorists for their patience."
