Aberdeen FC has confirmed the departure of several players as two new summer signings have been announced.
In a squad update, it was announced Connor Barron will leave the club despite management presenting the 21-year-old with several offers to persuade him to stay.
The club said Barron "decided his future will lie elsewhere".
Gavin Malloy, 22, is the first summer signing under new Dons boss Jimmy Thelin.
He joins the club from Ireland Premier Division Side Shelbourne FC on a three-year deal.
Dons boss Jimmy Thelin said: “Gavin has developed a growing reputation in Ireland.
“He brings great versatility, a positive attitude and both on and off the pitch conducts himself in the correct manner.
“Gavin is also a leader, something which is important for a strong and successful team, and it’s a characteristic, along with a hard-working attitude which is in the DNA of this Club.”
Peter Ambrose, 22, has become the club's second summer signing joining from Hungarian side Újpest.
The centre forward has also signed a three-year deal with the Dons, with the option of a fourth season.
Thelin said he is "delighted" to welcome Peter to the club: "He is very driven and ready to represent the Dons."
Commenting on his deal, Peter said: “It feels so good to be here. I have had such a warm welcome from everybody and I think everything will be very good here.
“I spoke to the manager and he told me his plans and what we will be working on. He told me that he would teach me and direct me on how he wants to play and that I just have to trust him and everything will be fine.
“When I was told of the interest from Aberdeen I was so grateful. Growing up as a kid I knew about the Scottish League and Aberdeen so I feel it is a big step for me.
“I can’t wait to pull on the Aberdeen shirt and to see the fans and play in front of them.”
Hoilett in talks to extend stay as club confirm departures
The club said it remains in talks with Junior Hoilett - who was recruited by former interim manager Neil Warnock - about extending his stay at Pittodrie.
However, first team players Kelle Roos and Anthony Stewart have now left the club.
They are joined by on-loan players Stefan Gartenmann and Killian Philips who have returned to their parent clubs.
