Bailey Gwynne's Family Thank The Public For "Kind Words"

The family of 16-year-old Bailey Gwynne, who was allegedly murdered in an Aberdeen school last week, have thanked the public for their "kind words".

Bailey was fatally injured during lunchtime last Wednesday. He was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries, but died shorlty afterwards.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with his murder, and is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court later this week.

The family of Bailey made a private visit to the school over the weekend, to see floral tributes left for the schoolboy.

In a statement, they said: "Thank you for all your help. Your kinds words and the lovely things you have left for Bailey.

"It means a lot and it would have meant a lot to Bailey.

"For all of you that were part of his life, however big or small, thank you for being there."
