Bailey accused denied bail
The 16 year old accused of murdering an Aberdeen teenager has had his bid to be released on bail denied.
The teenager accused of murdering Aberdeen schoolboy Bailey Gwynne has had his appeal to be released on bail rejected.
The 16 year old died just over a fortnight ago after being found fatally injured at his school
Another 16 year old boy was taken into custody, and he's now appeared in court twice, charged with murdering the teenager and having an offensive weapon in a school.
Today the lawyer of the accused - who can't be named - has appeared at the appeals court in Edinburgh.
Because of his client's age, he wanted him to be released on bail until the case resolves, or goes to trial.
The Crown Office has confirmed that bid has been rejected, and the 16 year old will continue to be held on remand.
Earlier this week we learned that Bailey's funeral will be held in private - and his family have thanked the community for their kindness and support.
