Appeal for information after attempted Christmas Eve robbery in supermarket car park

Officers in Aberdeen are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in the Morrisons car park on West North Street.

A man attempted to rob another man at around 3.45pm on Christmas Eve. The victim was in a silver Mercedes parked at the supermarket.

The suspect is described as around 20-years-old, of medium height and build, with darker skin and wearing dark coloured clothing, demanded money.

He was on a bicycle with thick tyres and purple markings on the frame.

Detective Constable Tom Cameron said: "Our enquiries are ongoing to trace this man and we believe there were a number of people around at the time who may have seen what happened.

"In particular we would like to speak to two men and two women who we believe may be witnesses who can help with our investigation.

"Also, anyone who saw this man on the bicycle and where he went is also asked to get in touch with officers."
