Attempted cash machine theft at Clifton Road shop

There's been an attempted bank machine robbery in Aberdeen.

The Spar on Clifton Road has been cordoned off this morning to let the police investigate.

The ATM outside was damaged, but no money was taken

Detective Inspector Fionnuala McPhail said: "I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between 12:00am and 2:00am.

"In particular we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a dark-coloured Audi SUV type vehicle, possibly a Q5 or a Q7."

"Additional patrols will be carried out in the area and we would ask that anyone with information speaks to any officer or calls 101 using reference number 0156 of 6 March. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous."
