More arrests over Fraserburgh death

Two men have been charged with murdering Gary Clampett

After two men are charged with murdering Gary Clampett in Fraserburgh - police have made more arrests.

31-year-old Barry Martin, and Joseph Martin, who's 39, made no plea or declaration at Peterhead Sheriff Court and have been remanded in custody.

A third man was released without charge.

But Police Scotland say a further three men - aged 36, 44 and 46 - have been charged in connection with the death Mr Clampett.

The 39-year-old died following reports of a disturbance in the Fernie Place area of Fraserburgh in the early hours of Sunday 18 June 2017.

Police officers, along with the Scottish Ambulance Service attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The men are expected to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court today.

Detective Inspector Gary Winter of the Major Investigation Team, who is leading the inquiry, said: "Our enquiries are continuing and a police presence will remain in the area at this time.
