Two men has been arrested and charged in Aberdeen after their attempts to make door-to-door sales allegedly became aggressive in the Cults area.

The incidents took place yesterday (Thursday September 2nd)

In the first a man is alleged to have become threatening to a woman who refused his sales at a home in Ashfield Road.

A 28-year-old was traced a short distance away.

Then about an hour later in the Kirk Brae area a second man supposedly became verbally and then physically abusive with a homeowner.

The altercation left the homeowner with a head injury.

Officers caught up with a man, who is alleged to have become verbally and physically aggressive with both officers.

A 20-year-old man was charged in connection.

Sergeant Julie Smith from the Westend and Hazelhead Community Policing Team said: “We are aware of unlicensed sellers attempting door to door sales in the area and would urge the public to remain vigilant.

“Thankfully no-one was seriously injured during these incidents, however a member of the public and two police officers were both verbally and physically abused, which is wholly unacceptable.

“Both men are due to appear in Aberdeen Sheriff Court today (Friday, 03 September, 2021).”
