Arrest over Aberdeen ATM raid

A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged break-in and attempted theft from an ATM machine at a Spar store in Aberdeen.

An incident was reported to police on March 6 in the Clifton Road area. An ATM was damaged but nothing taken.

A man was subsequently arrested and charged and is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today, Tuesday 3rd April.

Detective Inspector Fionnuala McPhail said: "Thank you to all those who provided us with information in connection with this investigation at the time.

"Our enquiries are still ongoing and I would encourage anyone with information to contact 101 using reference number 0156 of 6 March, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous."
