Sally, as she is now being called, was found in Rosehearty near Frasburgh, with very matted fur and two kilograms underweight.

Her microchip was registered to an address in Tyne and Wear, but workers have been unable to find her owner.

She is now recovering at the Scottish SPCA Drumoak Centre.

Abandoning an animal is an offence under the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006.

Anyone with any information about Sally is urged to come forward, and call the Scottish SPCA helpline on 03000 999 999.
