Police in Aberdeen are appealing for information after a street fight in Urquhart Road on Thursday 21st June.

Officers were called around 5.30pm to reports a man had facial injuries after he was attacked near Roslin Store. The 43-year-old was subsequently taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

It's reported he might have been hit with a hammer, but officers are looking into a number of possibilities.

PC Jennifer Urquhart of the Divisional Alcohol Violence Reduction Unit (DAVRU), who is leading the investigation, said: "Officers have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries, however there may be people who were in the area at the time of the incident who have information but not yet spoken to the police. Please come forward if you think you can assist by calling 101 quoting reference number 2997 of June 21, or contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.

"I would also like to thank the local community for their patience last night while enquiries were carried out. We are treating this as a contained incident with no threat to the wider public."
