All care home residents eligible in NHS Grampian have received their first Covid vaccine dose

The health board say that all residents who were fit and willing have had their first jag.

All care home residents in the NHS Grampian health board are who were fit, able and consenting have had their first dose of the Covid vaccine.

An NHS Grampian spokesperson said:

"We have now attended all older people's care homes in Grampian and provided first vaccination to those residents who were fit, able, and consented to receive the injection. "

"We will be returning to care homes to carry out 'catch-up' work as part of the wider vaccination programme."

Aberdeen Central MSP Kevin Stewart has reacted to the update.

Commenting on the news Mr Stewart said:

“This wonderful news brings real hope not just to those vaccinated and their families, but to all of us as we get closer to that light at the end of the tunnel.

“Hats off to NHS Grampian and all those involved in the vaccine roll-out – we’re not out of the woods yet, but let there be no doubt that this is a landmark moment in the fight against the virus.”
