Former First Minister Alex Salmond has been beaten by Conservative candidate Colin Clark in Gordon.

He's been a parliamentarian at Westminster and Holyrood for thirty years.

Gordon was one of 21 seats lost by the SNP last night.

West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine also went to the Tories - Andrew Bowie beat Stuart Donaldson in the constituency.

In Banff and Buchan, Eilidh Whiteford lost to David Duguid.

And in Aberdeen South Callum McCaig was ousted by Ross Thomson:

Kirsty Blackman in Aberdeen North was the only SNP MP to hold on to her seat in the city and shire.
