Aberdeen City Council have given Aberdeen FC permission to host over six thousand fans for their league opener with Dundee United.

A similar number of supporters were granted access for the BK Hacken game - 5,665 of them - but that figure has been increased by more than 600 people for this match.

Club's must seek permission to go above the 2,000 supporter limit set by the Scottish Government at Level 0.

Local authorities have the ability to increase that figure, should they be satisfied with the safety measures in place.

The club decided to apply for games on an individual basis - so had to go to the Council for the green light again.

Doing so has allowed them to apply for an increased level of attendance.

The club say they are now permitted to use parts of the main stand - something they couldn't do on Thursday due to UEFA regulations.
