Aberdonian Bets £50,000 On Andy Murray To Win Wimbledon

An Aberdonian has placed a £50,000 bet on Andy Murray winning this years Wimbledon competiton.

It's at odds of 5/2, behind Novak Djokovic - but if successful would net the punter a £175,000 return.

Ladbrokes believes it to be the largest bet ever placed on Andy Murray.

Murray became men singles champion in 2013, ending a 77-year wait for a British winner.

The British number one is due to get his campaign under way against Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
