Aberdeen Student 'Upset' After Soldier Who Bit Off His Ear Avoids Jail
A student, who's ear was bitten off in an "unprovoked attack" by a soldier, has told Northsound News he is upset that the man has avoided jail.
21-year-old Peter Reid was socialising with friends in a city centre nightclub when Scott Melvin, who is a serving member of the British Army, assaulted him and bit off his ear.
Melvin appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where he was ordered to pay his victim £3,600 compensation and carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the community.
Speaking to Northsound News, Peter Reid said he is annoyed with the outcome.
