Aberdeen South MP Ross Thomson's constituency office has been vandalised.

The word "Tory" has been spray painted next to his picture in the Holburn Street office.

He was elected in the General Election 2017, replacing the SNP's Callum McCaig who had held the seat for just over two years.

A statement on Mr Thomson's Facebook page said: "Disappointed that my office has been targeted by vandals. The purpose of my office is firstly and foremostly to provide a safe, accessible and politically-neutral advice centre for all people in Aberdeen South.

"This kind of mindless vandalism threatens to intimidate constituents, my staff and other building users, including residents who live in the block.

"Like all other MPs, my office is funded by the taxpayer and it is unfair that they should have to foot the bill just because some disgruntled individual with a can of spray paint is unable to accept the democratic process.

"There are lots of CCTV cameras on the street outside and I am hopeful that the person responsible will be caught.

"The incident has been reported to Police Scotland."
