Aberdeen road closed for eight weeks after structural damage
An emergency road closure was made today at Kennerty Road in Peterculter
An emergency road closure was made today at Kennerty Road in Peterculter due to embankment slippage.
Aberdeen City Council have released a statement on the closure.
"The road has been closed from the junction of Millside Street to the junction of Kennerty Mills Road due to further slippage of the embankment to the south west of Kennerty Bridge.
"If traffic is permitted to continue to use the road, it may further affect the structural stability of the road. Alternate access to the area can be made from Station Road East.
"Aberdeen City Council is in the process of appointing a contractor to carry out the repair and it is anticipated that the on-site works will commence mid-July.
"However the road will have to remain closed until the repairs have been made and the road is stabilised which could take up to 8 weeks.
"We would like to apologise for the inconvenience the road closure will cause."
