Aberdeen to reveal new stadium plan

The Dons want to build their new grounds to the west of the city - on the path of the new bypass

The Dons are planning to build a new stadium right next to the AWPR.

Aberdeen have been trying to move from Pittodrie for years. The age of the stadium and its location means it's impossible for the club to make the improvements they want there.

It's just a few years since plans for a move to Loirston in the south of the city were blocked by the city council.

The new plans would see a new stadium and training facilities in the Kingsford area, between Kingswells and Westhill.

It would be right next to the path of the new Aberdeen bypass, at the junction with the A944.

It's understood it'll cost £40 million - and we'll be getting more details from the club today about the proposals.
