Aberdeen pubs permitted outdoor tv screenings of Euros 2024 games
The licensing board have agreed to temporarily relax rules during the football tournament.
Football fans will be able to watch Scotland play in the Euros in Aberdeen's pubs and bars outdoor seating areas this summer.
Aberdeen's licensing board agreed to temporarily relax rules during the football tournament following calls from Aberdeen Inspired.
The board also agreed to allow licensed premises to open outdoor areas after 10pm in the event of extra time or penalties.
Adrian Watson, chief executive of the Business Improvement District said: “Today’s decision is a major boost for hospitality in the city and a huge lift for football fans – everybody wins.
“Now let’s keep our fingers crossed Scotland can keep that winning streak going in Germany next month.”
Councillor Martin Greig, member of the licencing board, said: "The proposal to relax licensing policy during the Euros 2024 period was welcome and positive.
"In these difficult times, it is important to create opportunities for socialising and entertainment in safe and well-run premises.
"The pubs and bars will offer fun and safe environments for everyone to have a good time and enjoy the Uefa championships."
The Scotland team kick of their Euro 2024 bid against Germany on 14 June.
