Aberdeen man who raped and abused women over 15 year period convicted at High Court

The incidents took place between 2005 and 2020

A man who raped and abused women in Aberdeen between June 2005 and August 2020 has been convicted at the High Court in Edinburgh.

Stephen Kidd, from Peterculter, was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be sentenced at a later date.

Detective Inspector Gordon Patullo said:

“Our thought are very much with Kidd’s victims and I hope that today’s verdict brings them some kind of closure and helps them to move forward. I commend them all for their bravery in coming forward.

“Kidd subjected women to sexual and physical assault over a 15 year period. He has shown no remorse for his crimes.

“Police Scotland is committed to supporting victims of sexual crimes and takes all reports seriously with the aim of bringing those responsible to justice.

“I would urge anyone who wishes to report a sexual crime, no matter how long ago, to contact us.”
