An Aberdeen hotel has been forced to close it's kitchen after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

The Chester Hotel say there won't be any food served for the next day days, but they will continue to serve drinks in their outdoor marquee.

Opening times for the 10 day period are:

• From 5pm Thursday 8 and 15 July

• From 12 noon Friday 9 and Saturday 10 July

The entire kitchen staff will need to self-isolate due to the test.

Anyone who has a booking that will be impacted by the change are told they will receive an email cancelling it.

They'll fully re-open on Friday the 16th of July.

A post on their Facebook page says:

"Throughout the pandemic, we’ve taken all our decisions based on the safety and well-being of both our guests and our staff. It is important that we take our responsibilities as an employer and a business seriously and that we demonstrate a duty of care to all.

"We hope that, whilst disappointed at having their bookings cancelled, our guests will understand our need to protect everyone.

"Our team has worked tirelessly since we reopened in April to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests, and we have a duty of care to them to secure their well being.

"Cancellation emails will be sent out soon – but anyone who wishes to cancel their own booking can do so by clicking the link in their booking confirmation email.

"Reception will be manned on a skeleton staff during this time – so please help us to respond as swiftly as we can by emailing us with any queries rather than calling – reception@chester-hotel.com."
