The site, which sits next to plot where the club's new stadium will be built cost £12million.

The club has previously trained on public parks, shared facilities and even on the city's beach in the past - never having their own purpose built facilities.

Chairman Stewart Milne spoke at the ceremony, he said:

"We are finally here"

"I must admit there has been a few bleak moments, the odd occasion where I wondered if we'd ever get here."

"After 20 years searching for a new home for our club, we finally made it."

Sir Alex Ferguson cut the ribbon on the center, he reminisced about some of the training facilities his European Super Cup winning side used.

Ferguson said: "Back then I'm sure we could have trained on the beach everyday and still somehow win the league, that's how good those players were."
