Aberdeen concerned over Jonny Hayes as injured winger misses Maribor clash
Aberdeen are without key man Jonny Hayes for tonight's Europa League qualifier against Maribor. The winger, who scored in the 1-1 first-leg draw, could face several weeks out with a hamstring injury.
Manager Derek McInnes stated on Wednesday that only Callum Morris would be absent from the game in Slovenia but Hayes did not travel for the second leg of the third qualifying round.
Quoted in several newspapers, McInnes said: Jonny picked up an in jury in training yesterday which was obviously a concern. It's a blow. It's one of these things we have to deal with because he's a very important player.
We tried to keep it quiet but these things never stay quiet. I think the opposition were aware of Jonny, too, and the threat he poses.
It's his hamstring but we don't know how long he'll be missing for. He'll get a scan and we'll find out, it depends on the severity.''
