Aberdeen City Council has confirmed schools in the region will open their doors again on the 11th of August.

It follows discussions with the Local Negotiating Committee for Teachers.

The new term will get underway on the 10th of August with an in-service day – buildings will then re-open for pupils the following day.

In a statement, the council said the chosen date will allow for the phasing of pupils back into buildings gradually.
