The local election results are in - and in Aberdeen, there are big gains for the Conservatives and big losses for Labour, but the SNP have the most councillors.

It’s yet to be seen exactly who'll be in power at the Town House - but with 19 councillors, the SNP needs just 4 votes to take over.

It was a day of change for Labour, losing 8 seats, including that of Former Finance Convener Willie Young in Bridge of Don. But Jenny Laing, who led the previous administration regains her seat for Midstocket and Rosemount.

The Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party take an extra 8 seats this year, with a swing right from Labour, while the SNP gain 4 more seats compared to the last vote in 2012.

It means the Nationalists will still need to do a deal to secure the administration – with 23 seats needed to do that. So just 4 votes from elsewhere are needed to secure control for the SNP.

The meeting for that decision to be made has been set for 17th May.
