Aberdeen Striker Bayley Hutchison is the SWPL Player of the month.

Nine goals in the first six games of the SWPL 2 season for 17-year-old has not only helped the Dons to the top of the table - without dropping any points - but it has also seen Hutchison win the award for the second time in her career.

Four of those goals came in October, the month for which she has won the award - with the youngster going from strength to strength so far in November.

She first burst onto the scene exactly two years ago, at just 15, to win the honour.

The team she joined at that time looks rather different to the squad now managed by Emma Hunter and Stuart Bathgate.

Back-to-back relegation had the Dons outside of the SWPL at the beginning of last season, but since then they've not lost a single League game, finding themselves back in the SWPL 2 with aspirations of another promotion.

Hutchison has played a major part in that.

She got her hands on the award last night (November 18) at training.

Speaking from Cormack Park, Hutchison said: “I’m delighted to win this award for a secondtime and I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who voted for me. I also need to give a huge thanks to my teammates and coaches who have got us off to such a strong start this season.”

“This is a really competitive league and I think that has been reflected in the results and league table” said Hutchison.

“We’re having to work hard for three points every week and it’s testament to us that we’re able to do that.

“I’m really pleased to be playing my part and helping the team to success. As a striker, you always want to be scoring goals but the team winning is the ultimate aim.”
