Aberdeen captain Anthony Stewart has left the club to join MK Dons on loan.

The defender was brought in from Wycombe Wanderers in the summer with Jim Goodwin handing him the armband.

The 30-year old has been a regular starter in a poor season for the Dons.

Stewart was sent off twice in his last six appearances and was part of the side knocked out of the Scottish Cup by junior team Darvel.

He also started their 6-0 defeat to Hibernian at Easter Road that saw Goodwin sacked afterwards.

Dutch forward Vicente Besuijen has also exited on deadline day.

The 21-year old has joined Excelsior Rotterdam on an initial loan deal with the Eredivisie side holding the option to make the transfer permanent in the summer.

Besuijen made 42 appearances for the Pittodrie side after joining in the summer of 2021, scoring nine goals.
