29-year-old man dies after crash on the A90 this morning

Police are appealing for information.

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal road crash this morning (Tuesday, 26 January, 2021.)

Around 7:40am, police received a report of a one vehicle serious road crash on the A90 Peterhead to Aberdeen Road, south of Newburgh.

Emergency services attended and the male driver of the vehicle was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The man was aged 29 years old. His relatives have been informed.

The road remains closed as crash scene investigators conduct enquiries and examine the scene.

Sergeant Scott Deans said: “I am appealing to any motorists who were on the road around the time of the incident to contact us. In particular, I would ask anyone with a dash cam to check it as the footage may be able to assist our enquiries. A man has lost his life and it’s imperative, we find out how it happened.”
