Police are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old woman was assaulted in Old Aberdeen.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old woman was assaulted in Old Aberdeen.

The attack took place in the Meston Walk area, behind the Meston Building at the University of Aberdeen, between 11:45am and 12:15pm on Saturday.

The woman was left shaken but was uninjured.

Officers are keen to speak to a man described as being around 6' tall, slim build and approximately 30-years old. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and carrying a black rucksack on his shoulders. When last seen, he was on Elphinstone Road, heading towards St Machar Drive.

Police also want to trace a woman wearing a pink or purple jacket, who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the crime take place.
