19-year-old killed in A90 crash named as local Dylan Irvine

The teenager was killed in a one vehicle crash near Crimmond, with a 18-year-old male passenger still in critical condition in hospital.

Police Scotland have confirmed the identity of man who died as a result of the crash on the A90 near Crimmond yesterday, as 19-year-old Dylan Irvine, from the local area.

The crash was reported at around 7.30am on Monday, 5 October, on the A90 between Crimmong and St Fergus gas terminal. Dylan was pronounced dead at the scene and a further 18-year-old man remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Dylan’s family have released the following statement: “Dylan was a loving son, brother and grandson, and was loved by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. He is sorely missed by all. He had an adventurous and outgoing soul and had the biggest heart.

“Our family would like to thank all of the emergency services for their efforts at the scene and we would ask that our family’s privacy is respected at this difficult time.”

Sergeant Chris Smith, of the North Road Policing Unit, said: “We are continuing to support the families of the two men, whilst we continue our investigations into the cause of the crash.

"I would again ask that anyone who has any information regarding the movements of the vehicle or the occupants, who hasn't already been spoken to by Police, please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 0491 of Monday, 5 October 2020."
