15 workers removed from Shell's Nelson platform after a positive Covid-19 case.

One worker tested positive following demobilizing on Friday, with 14 people identified as 'close contacts' removed from the platform on Sunday as a precaution.

One worker from Shell's Nelson platform has tested positive for Covid-19, the employee was demobilized from the platform on Friday.

A further 14 workers were removed from the platform on Sunday after being identified as 'close contacts' to the positive case.

A Shell spokesperson said: “A colleague who was demobilized from the Nelson platform on Friday has since tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing has been completed and we have activated our procedures for minimizing the risk of further infections on the platform. 14 people have been identified as having come into contact with the worker and were therefore demobilized on Sunday as a precautionary measure. Our priority is the welfare of our people and the safe operations of all our businesses.”
