Police have a male in custody after a young boy was seriously injured

A ten-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being knocked down by a motorbike in Aberdeen.

The collision involving a green Kawasaki happened on Cairngorm Drive in Kincorth at 3:15pm on Monday - the last day of the school holiday.

Doctors don't think his injuries are life threatening.

A male was later traced and is now in police custody - we don't know how old he is.

A report's being prepared for the procurator fiscal.

Sergeant Emily Hesp, who is investigating, said "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or indeed the events leading up to it and after it, to contact us on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous."
