Every week through the summer we’re featuring five local events, perfect to for the family.
EUROPEAN PIPE BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
The European Pipe Band Championships arrive in Aberdeen this weekend with thousands descending on Duthie Park to watch performers from across the globe compete in the annual championships.
Taking place on Saturday at Duthie Park from 9.30am until 6.30pm.
Around 101 bands and 25 drum majors are expected to travel to Aberdeen to take part in the spectacle.
Free shuttle busses will be running from the city center.

DRUMTOCHTY HIGHLAND GAMES
The Drumtochty Games take place on Saturday on the grounds of Drumtochty Castle near Auchenblae.
Known locally as the ‘friendly games’, Drumtochty hosts a full programme of events from the traditional ‘heavies’ to dancing and piping.
Plenty of entertainment and stalls for the family.

ABERDEEN RUNWAY RUN
Aberdeen’s unique charity run returns this weekend to Aberdeen Airport. The Runway Run has competitors running the Airport’s runway at Midnight to raise money for local charities.
Organised by Aberdeen Airport and CHC Helicopters, the event will split the money raised between local charities; Befriend a Child, We Too!, Keyleigh’s Wee Stars, and AberNecessities.

FRIENDLY FEST
‘Friendly Fest' will be headlined by Livin Joy’s iconic singer Janice Robinson who will be flying in from Miami, especially for the festival. Janice Robinson wrote one of the 90’s biggest anthems Dreamer.
The festival, which takes place at Keith Football Club's Kynoch Park, will also feature the Gerry Cinnamon Experience plus local acts across two stages.
The festival takes place on Saturday from 2pm until late.

GRAMPIAN PRIDE IN FRASERBURGH
Fraserburgh Pride takes place this Saturday at the Dalrymple Hall.
The Grampian Pride team will be hosting the Pride Village plus stage entertainment all afternoon.
Bobbie Dazzler hosts with performances from local acts, headlined by 90’s star Nikki French.
