The 16th series of popular MTV reality show Geordie Shore is set to return to our TV screens in January 2018, and today is has been revealed that two new cast members have joined the show. If you're a fan of Love Island, you'll definitely recognise one of them.

After his stint on ITV2's Love Island in the summer, Middlesbrough boy Sam Gowland is now a full cast member on Geordie Shore, joining his girlfriend Chloe Ferry.

Despite leaving the villa with former TOWIE star Georgia Harrison, the pair's relationship ended and shortly after Sam was spotted getting close with Chloe.

The pair have since documented their relationship on their social media accounts, posting a number of loved up photos with each other.

Just last weekend Sam posted a photo holding Chloe's hand during a stroll on the beach. Alongside the snap he wrote, 'ā¤ļøšŸ™'.

Sam isn't the only new arrival into the Geordie Shore house. 24-year-old Stephanie Snowdon has also joined the line-up, describing her love life as, "Iā€™m far too single. Everyoneā€™s getting married and I canā€™t even get a text back!"

Stephanie's arrival was announced on the official Geordie Shore Instagram page earlier today. The post said, 'This girl canā€™t say no to a job get out, so she sounds perfect for the Geordie Shore house! Everyone say hi @stephaniesnowdon šŸ’šŸ’'

In more big changes for series 16, fans will be disappointed to learn original cast members Gaz Beadle and Scotty T won't be involved in the show.

Whilst Scotty is off doing other things, Gaz is about to become a dad for the first time, after announcing his girlfriend Emma McVey is expecting the couple's first baby.

Gaz and Emma's baby boy is reportedly due later this year.

Fan favourite Marty McKenna also won't be returning after he was reportedly sacked from the show. Earlier this year Marty tweeted that he was the last person to find out he'd been removed, with his management then reportedly deleting his tweets.

That could be good news for new boy Sam, if you're a fan of the show you'll know Marty and Chloe have had some very messy business in the past!

Other cast members returning for the new series include Aaron Chalmers , Chloe Ferry, Marnie Simpson , Nathan Henry and Abbie Holborn.

Geordie Shore series 16 returns to MTV on Tuesday 9th January at 10pm.
